Go Strollers !!

[September in Seattle] Lakeside Park, Lake Chelan

  • Distance and Travel Time (from downtown Seattle) : 178 miles (3h 8m)
  • Trip Type: Day trip or Overnight trip
  • Parking: Parking lot in the park
  • When to Go
    Any time of year
  • Things to Do
Stroll along the lake, boating in the lake, water fun, visit nearby farms, etc.
  • Tips
    1) Dropping by Leavenworth on the way to or from Lake Chelan is a good option.
    2) The roads on highway 2 are narrow and winding so use caution – the area has lots of snow in winter so be sure to check the Stevens Pass road conditions on the WA State DOT website and be prepared (snow tires, chains, etc.).
    3) The Lake Chelan NRA which is the southern unit of the North Cascade National Park, is further towards the Wenatchee National Forest.
    4) It is a long way to travel in one day (and driving on narrow winding roads in the forest can make it tougher) so make it an overnight trip.
