- Tips
1) From I-5: A day trip is possible but spending a night in Portland and visiting Multnomah Falls as well can make a good getaway.
2) From I-90: Make a stop at Snoqualmie Pass for some snow fun (take along a sled), head towards Yakima, explore the Columbia River Gorge area and spend a night in Portland or Vancouver, WA so you can take I-5 back home. If your family is okay with the drive, the trip can be made in a day.
