• When to Go : Summer (Open year-long but can be cold in other seasons)

• Things to Do
  Stroll along the short forest trail to the sand spit (less than 1 mile), enjoy the beach, watch for wildlife (such as sea animals, birds, deer), etc.

• Tips
  1) Bring hats, sunglasses, and water to prepare for the heat.
  2) Bring jackets in case of wind.
  3) Bring along some binoculars to get a better look at the lighthouse at the end of the spit. (It would be nice to walk the 5 miles along the spit all the way to the lighthouse but the distance may be too long to walk for younger kids)
  4) Take along some beach toys for the kids.
  5) Kids may enjoy playing with the many rounded big rocks on the shore.
  6) Visiting a lavender farm in Sequim on the same day can make a good day trip.
