Go Strollers !!

[September in Seattle] Fall in Green Lake Park

  • Distance and Travel Time (from downtown Seattle): 5.7 miles (15 min)
  • Trip Type: Outing
  • Parking
Use the parking lot at the Green Lake Community Center, Green Lake Aqua Theater or Seattle Public Theatre or park on the street.
  • When to Go
Any time of year (Great park to enjoy year round but can be chilly on windy days in winter and spring)
  • Things to Do
Walk or jog on the path, animal watching (ducks – ducklings in spring, turtles, throwing pebbles in the water, playground, sports (soccer, badminton, frisbees, etc.) and relaxing on the grassy areas (picnics, etc.), enjoying seasonal blooms, bikes/scooters/skates, boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, etc.
  • Tips
    1) The 2.8 mile (4.5 km) loop path along the lake may be tiring for the little ones, so start the walk from a point that is not too far from the playground. After the kids play, they can relax with a snack in the stroller while you walk the rest of the loop or head back.
    2) It can get pretty chilly even on sunny days if there is wind so be sure to take along a jacket, hat and mittens.
    3) The wading pool is great for young children to have fun in summer. It is located on the north end of Green Lake at the intersection of Wallingford Ave N and East Green Lake Drive North.
