When to Go
Any time of year (a sunny weekend or the kids’ spring break can be a good time to go)
Things to Do
Stroll along the trails, ride bikes/scooters, see totem poles, play at the rocky beach and search for small sea creatures, playground, ride the mini train, enjoy a horse-pulled trolley ride, aquarium, etc.
Tips
1) The Seawall is a 5.5 mile (8.8 km) trail around the border of the park that moves in one direction (counter clockwise) and is divided into a bike lane and walking lane. However, the bike lane is not safe for younger children (on tricycles or scooters) that need to frequently stop in the middle of the road since they get in the way of the many cyclers. Let them ride slowly in the walking lane instead and follow on foot close behind them. The loop is too long for younger kids so it is a good idea for one parent to walk with the kids while the other parent brings the car to a point where the family can meet up.
2) Note that many of the roads in the park are one way streets.
